- May faulty logic undermine your entire philosophy!

So I've read Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal (written by Christopher Moore) more than once and now I've been listening to the audio book. I consider myself more spiritual than any particular religion but that's not to say I haven't read and studied the Bible. Yes, I was raised in the Episcopal church but we were encouraged to ask questions if we had any. So when I finally reached that stage where I felt there was definitely a higher power out there, I couldn't bring myself to put a definitive name to it. That's not my place, but I do respect it. As a matter of fact, I try to respect anyone with faith enough to devote themselves to their religion. Especially the people that gain strength from their faith.
Back to the matter at hand: the book. I recommend this book to everyone. And I mean EVERYONE.
This is story of the Christ's life from the time he confronted and debated with the priests at the temple in Jerusalem, through his journey's searching for and learning from the Magi, spreading The Word of the Divine Spark, up to the crucifixion and after. However, it's told by his friend Levi bar Alphaeus, better known as Biff. The story is absolutely wonderful. I laughed and cried so hard I almost made myself sick. This humanized Jesus Christ the Son of God and Saviour of Mankind and let you get to know Joshua bar Joseph of Nazareth as a person. It would be so much easier for me to believe and have faith in someone like Joshua.
Please take the time to read the first two chapters. Believe me. It's so worth it. You can see a limited preview of it here but expect to miss a few pages. Lamb by Christopher Moore.
