Antiquis temporibus, nati tibi similes in rupibus ventosissimis exponebantur ad necem. -

- In the good old days, children like you were left to perish on windswept crags.

That old adage "Time flies when you're having fun" should be adjusted to "Time flies when you're having fun or losing money." Spent 5 hours at the blackjack table at the SilverStar today and did not even realize it! I didn't even believe it until Chase showed me the time on his insulin pump display. At least now I know how long I can play blackjack on $60. *sigh* HA!

He and I decided that, even though we're unemployed, we can still have fun. For example, we get these invitations to come to the casino and play in slot tournaments. No entry fee and a complimentary room (score!) covers gameplay on a Sunday. So we figured we'd actually go now that he's on his cycler instead of having to do dialysis 4 times a day. March is looking busy! SilverStar / Golden Moon has the tournaments every Sunday and you have to participate in at least 2 of them. Then we get to go see Craig Ferguson at the Beau Rivage on the 12th (*insert girlish squee here*).

Plus, Bonnie and Aidan are coming up to visit from the 13th or 14th until about the 20th. Fun times!

So I haven't forgotten about this thing but it feels kinda like the diary I figured it would feel like. Can't wait to get enough followers to start a contest. It would probably help if I emailed the blogsite address to my email but I don't email enough as it is.

Anulos qui animum ostendunt omnes gestemus! -

- Let's all wear mood rings!

Okay. Well, I have to admit that I giggled like a little school-girl when I got my first follower. ha! Silly as hell but I don't give a damn.

Watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Chase fell asleep 2/3 of the way through it. Will be doing his 3rd dialysis treatment on the cycler tonight and cardiac rehab tomorrow morning. Should probably get him off the couch and in bed then get started on some laundry.

Also, thinking about holding a contest or something like that. The goal for now is to have enough followers to make the contest fair. Once that's said and done, I'll find some really cool something or another then work on the actual rules and requirements. So pass the word around!

Ooh! I found a recipe for butterbeer! Watching
HP made me wonder if it's real and what it would take to make it. So here's my first recipe to share. Testing begins soon and reviews to follow soon after.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup (8 oz) club soda or cream soda
  • ½ cup (4 oz) butterscotch syrup (ice cream topping)
  • ½ tablespoon butter
Directions:

Step 1: Measure butterscotch and butter into a 2 cup (16 oz) glass. Microwave on high for 1 to 1½ minutes, or until syrup is bubbly and butter is completely incorporated.

Step 2: Stir and cool for 30 seconds, then slowly mix in club soda. Mixture will fizz quite a bit.

Step 3: Serve in two coffee mugs or small glasses; a perfectly warm Hogwarts treat for two!

In The Beginning...

... pancake.

This is my first official blog (I hate that word) post so I guess a little history is in order...

The purpose / excuse for this likely monstrosity is to blatantly abuse it by venting my frustrations, joy, anger, sadness, excitement and those sometimes overwhelming bouts of depression.

I want to make this interesting and I want to find out things about myself. I'm willing to post anything on here. That means that anything I think, feel, believe and just plain need to get out will be blared for anyone to see. Some things might be hurtful to myself or others but, damn it, it probably needed saying. I might apologize; I might not. Hopefully, it's something you needed to know
- you know who you are.

Really and truly I was this thing to be fun. Everything from travel notes, recipes, pictures, restaurant and movie "reviews" and suggestions, stupid quotes and maybe even an idiotic quiz every now and then. And, of course, there's the likes, dislikes, hopes, dreams, wants and wishes.

To be perfectly honest, I never really wanted to host / write / whatever a blog (grrr...) but I came across one while I was working at Sitel for CafePress. Here. Just read this and you'll see what I mean:
http://www.theonlythingiknow.com/fathers-eyes. After reading this, I was hooked. Her sense of humor was so " Yay! A funny!" rambling. hahaha! I guess we'll just see where this goes because who knows? I may forget about it after a month or so.
